corley cycles series round 2 (my first)
Last nights crit was a good race even if it was a little damp out on the course with things like table and chairs down the back straight. the race was an hour and 5 laps and just after we started off I felt OK but as the race went on I settled into the pace and started to ride up near the front of the bunch. as I rode up on the front and near the front, any break aways that tried to go did not get away because the bunch would not let them go. As we got near the end and we came over the line for the last lap a massive crash happened right in front of me while doing about 30mph I went around to the right on the grass to avoid it and I was heading for my mum who did jump out of the way and I stopped and looked back at the people on the ground I got off and felt a bit shocked and very glad I stayed up right. I then saw the race finish.

Banbury Star CC 13 mile solo
Today was a 13 mile solo again and tonight felt fairly hard due to the wind not helping much. today I was sent off number 34 (only 2 more after me) and tried to see how long it would be before I got passed by the two fast guys after me, one passed me at about 6 miles in and the other passed me at 9 miles in. Tonight I was only 4 seconds off the junior club record (my time 30:48) and if I had not got held up round a bend by a van I may have just beaten it, but there's always next time!

First road race on the road today
Just starting off
Today was my first road race on the road and it was very wet! Themes velo road race 3/4/J/W, 43 miles. The race was a rolling start and I felt not too bad when they sped up, not long after the race started the person in front off me went to have a drink and as he put his bottle in his bottle cage he dropped it and I just clipped it with my front wheel but I stayed upright and so did every one else. The bunch sped up and slowed down a bit over the race but not too bad and the small hill on each lap was harder paced going down the other side than going up. In the last two miles Coming to the finish the sun came out at last within the last mile there was a small kick up and then a bit flat before the finish line and as I went up the up hill I was out of the saddle sprinting hard and passing people and be passed by a few, once at the top I sat down and sprinted hard and passed a few more riders and got to the finish line 27th out of 77 and am very happy with that place.

Banbury Star CC 13 mile solo
The time trial today was a nice one because there was not too much wind. Before the start some one fell off by me as I was standing near the start and I some how did not fall over but luckly me and the bike where OK. The start today was no one holding the bike up so ever one had to start uncliped. around the course today not much happened I over took four people and did not get overtaken. Coming up the last hill I was in so much pain but I passed some one up the hill so that helped. Heading for the finish line a felt a little sick but finished and recovered quickly and found out my time was 31 mins and 3 seconds and thats a ne PB.

Speedwell BC 28 miles
Today was speedwell BC 28 mile time trial and it was another well organized event, the course was hilly but not too bad. As I started and turned off my computer sensor got court in the wheel and was hanging but hitting the spokes but as it fell down it was just staying on of the wheel. The course was very fast to start with (I think?) but as you turn off it gets more hilly towards the finish, as I finish the first lap I was wondering if I should stop and drop my wheel out to get the sensor off but in the end I did not. It was that nice fast part again and this time I felt like i was going even faster but then there was that turn off again and that meant a bit of a cross wind but not that bad. As I turned off heading towards the finish line I was on the small chain ring spinning up a hill feeling good, But then as the road got a bit more flat I tried to put it on the big ring and the chain went too far over and I could not get it back on the chain ring. I then stopped and tryed to get it on but after all that effort so far my hands where shaking a bit and I was started to get worried about my time so two people over took me and I just got my chain on and sprinted away as hard as I could but it was no good because coming to the finish I just could not keep my speed going and I felt I kept slowing down even more, and to make things worst I was to busy trying to do well I shouted the wrong number (18 because I was thinking of the day before, I should of 17). I thought when I finished I had lost too much time trying to get my chain on, But at the finish it turned out I had won out of the women and junior (because I was the only junior I was put in with the women) I had first place and even tho I hand bike trouble.

Stratford CC open 10
Sorry no picture
Today was the Stratford CC open 10 mile and it was a nice warm day on a fairly fast course. The start was very good because it was on a slope so as I came down to the first roundabout I had picked up some speed and onto the dual carriage way. Riding down to the next roundabout was very fast because it was nice and flat, turning around was good the roundabout was clear so I did not have to slow down. Coming back was a bit slower but not by much, at the last roundabout there I had to go right so as I was going around there was a car on my left (that went straight on) and I was slowly passing it. as I turned off the round about the road sloped up a bit and as I got near to the top I passed my first rider and still felt OK, I then turned off for a fast ride down to the finish. Going down I was passed by a rider (the first to pass me) and I tried to adjust my pace to keep him in sight. Just over the finish line I felt a bit sick but looked at my bike computer to see the average speed just over 26mph, I now have a new open 10 personal best of 22:59.

Stratford CC 6.9 mile time trial
Today was a 6.9 mile time trial with Stratford CC on a nice flat course, it was an out and back course and apart from a few small slopes my speed was good. When I started I got up to speed and stayed there for a while and managed to not let my speed drop below 23mph on the way out. At the turn around point there was a very small round about with a bit bad road surface (the only bad part of the course). Coming back It was even faster than on the way out and getting close to the finish line I was out of the saddle sprinting as hard as I could just over the line I looked down to see my speed as 28mph. My time was 16:25 and average speed of just over 25 mph.

Banbury Star CC 2up ...but done solo
Me at a turn
Today Was Banbury Star CC 2up but I did it as a solo to see what sort of time I could do on my own. The start was very hard into a headwind but once I turned off the first road it was still hard but I was catching my minute man and went passed him on an up hill part. once I turned off on to the third road it was faster and I managed to get down to the last road (the fastest road) pretty quick. Down the last road the wind was helping a lot because its a very fast road and at one point I was doing 36 mph on the fastest part, but for most of the way I was keeping it over 27 mph most of the way down. Coming up the last hill I maneged to pass a 2up pair near the top of the hill and as I headed to the finish line I did feel a little sick but glad it was over.
